St. Francis Medical Center (SFMC) has been named a Top Performing hospital by QUEST. QUEST is the “Quality, Excellence, Safety with Transparency” performance program developed by Premier, the Institute for Health Improvement, and health care leaders. Since joining QUEST in 2008, SFMC has been recognized for extraordinary gains in Evidence-Based Care, Efficiency, and Mortality.
Saving Lives
The QUEST mortality measure demostrates that lives are saved through SFMC’s consistent quality care practices.
QUEST Site Visit
As a result of the medical center’s performance in Evidence-Based Care, Efficiency, and Mortality, SFMC was selected for a QUEST site visit last August. The visit was made by two representatives from The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice and Premier. The representatives stated, “The goal of the site visit was to help us refine our understanding about what factors drive superior quality improvement outcomes in different hospitals. We will develop a brief case study with the purpose of publicly recognizing the successes that SFMC has been able to achieve, and sharing with other hospitals how rapid improvements in care can be accomplished.”
Surpassing QUEST Threshold
St. Francis has also been cited as one of 76 hospitals to score above the QUEST threshold, and is spotlighted in the 2010 QUEST Top Performers booklet. A total of 200 hospitals currently participate in QUEST.
