St. Francis Medical Center (SFMC) exists to serve the healthcare and social needs - body, mind, and spirit - of the communities of Southeast Los Angeles.
We provide patient-centered, economical health services with a special concern for the sick poor and their families. We operate a 384-bed acute care hospital, six community-based health clinics, and the largest and busiest private emergency trauma center in Los Angeles County - treating 60,000 children and adults each year. Last year, more than 6,000 babies were born at SFMC's Family Life Center, with 750 babies cared for in our state-of-the-art Neonatal Intensive Care Center.
