Going Home

In the coming days and weeks after your delivery, there are many things to do and think about to help assure the well-being and comfort of you and your baby.

  • Leaving the Hospital
  • Car Seat Safety
  • Follow-up Appointments

  • Leaving the Hospital

Leaving the HospitalWhen the time comes for you and your baby to go home, your transportation should be available to pick you up at 11 a.m. Before your departure your nurse will provide you with instructions regarding follow-up care for you and your baby. Be sure to ask your nurse any questions you may have.

    Car Seat Safety

Before you leave the hospital you must have an appropriate infant car seat for your child. California State Law requires that a child be buckled in a federally approved child safety seat until the child is four years old and weighs 40 pounds. Remember, never place your baby in the front seat.
