St. Francis Medical Center offers a psychiatric outpatient program treating a wide range of mental health issues. This program is group-based and designed for adults who could benefit from a less intense setting than inpatient hospitalization. For patients discharged from the hospital, as well as individuals who find they need therapy and support several days a week, our program provides a multidisciplinary team of practitioners to assess and treat a variety of conditions. Among these are:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Bipolar Disorder
- Schizophrenia
- Schizoaffective Disorder
- ADHD
- Autistic Spectrum Disorders
- Eating Disorders
- Brain Injuries
- Adjustment Disorders
- Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Chemical Dependency
The outpatient program includes an assessment that addresses the various needs of the individual: medical, emotional, spiritual, legal, vocational, nutritional, and social. In addition, a psychiatric history, current symptoms, and the patient’s desired goals will be reviewed. Based on this, a unique treatment plan will be developed for each person.
The structure of the program consists of an initial assessment or referral by a clinician, individual sessions with the psychiatrist and medical doctor, regular health screenings by a registered nurse, group psychotherapy with a psycho-educational component, occupational therapy groups, and family or couple’s counseling as needed.
Additionally, depending on the situation, as well as the severity and complexity of the symptoms, referrals may be made to outside agencies, such as a 12-step group, individual therapy, church groups, hotlines, possible living situations, and other support services.
The program runs from 9:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please call with any questions or for a free and friendly assessment: (310) 900-8240.
